Paradigm Shift

Inspired by the works of Maya Deren, Paradigm Shift is an avant-garde film influenced by both The American and The European avant-garde movements. My aim was to challenge the status quo of conventional dominant cinema, and despite this I attempted to appease and put questions forth to the very same mainstream audiences.

Paradigm Shift follows “I” through a variation of dreamlike habitats, with audio and visual oddities as he tries to evade the inevitable and the mysterious doppelgängers of himself who seem to be omnipresent through his journey.

More notable influential movements are The European Avant-Garde and The American Avant-garde, as well as The 1960s new wave which similarly to my FMP “shares the french avant-garde approach to narrative, mise-en-scene, psychological expressionism and remains committed to broader audiences
