Bygone (2022)

I aimed to develop my style as a filmmaker by further exploring and developing techniques and conceptual ideas that I have practiced in previous projects of mine. I have developed a passion and appreciation of avant-garde, experimental and surrealist cinema. I aimed to use the limitless bounds of these styles of filmmaking in order to create a psychodrama, by using cinematic elements such as a non-linear narrative, lighting and sound in order to reflect the protagonist's mental state and struggle to create an expressive film that subverts audience expectations with its dreamlike, almost poetic narrative structure. I wanted to remain as ambiguous as possible in order to create an active and conscious spectator out of a passively absorbing audience.
